Who the fuck did I give my number to?
Another New York number called. My magicJack number.
No easy way to block a ton of numbers, you’d have to manually block each one. There’s also what looks like a spoofing number, it starts almost the same as my number.
If I port the number to a cellphone plan, I can use Hiya or something to block numbers.
I like the idea, of changing the number better though.
Maybe it’s because of that host I signed up with, my account was hacked, possibly before I even logged in. I was getting an internal server error after pointing my domain to their server, it eventually loaded, and it was some PHP script, that people put on hacked sites. They never emailed me anything else, like if my account was hacked, or the server was. I got a refund though.
But if that server is hacked, who knows what other servers they own are hacked, possibly their billing as well.
Now I could enable the thing on magicJack that asks for their name, if I answer it. Then I can not accept the call.
You can’t say it’s because I haven’t had the number a long time, I’ve had it a long time. If I change it, I have to call Social Security, as they won’t let me change anything online.
You can only block 99 numbers on magicJack it looks like. Bummer, as I need to block every number in New York.
The automated call screening, makes them enter a random one digit number. So if it’s automated, I don’t think anything will ring, it’ll get disconnected.
That’ll block Kaiser’s annoying robot. They won’t even get to leave a message. Haha.
If I use call forwarding, I can use Hiya or some other call blocking app. But their terms seem to say you can’t use call forwarding all the time. So no idea why you can supposedly enable it. Even says on the bottom of their site, forwarding your app for more then two weeks at a time, they can terminate you.
So what’s the point in the call forwarding feature?
Enabled the automated call screening. Perhaps that’ll get rid of the bogus calls.
If I port the number to a cell service, I might be able to port back to Google Voice. But I’m lazy.
