If the video file has subtitles that aren’t in English, extract one, and translate it. I used some site.

If using Jellyfin and MrMC, make sure the subtitle is in the same folder as the video file, with the same name, but a different extension, a subtitle extension.

I wasted a lot of bandwidth. And the other thing I downloaded, wasn’t the same thing, I deleted it. That is why those subtitles didn’t work for the other one, there aren’t any publicly available English subtitles.

I used mkvtoolnix to extract the subtitle, it’s a MKV file, if it’s MP4, you’ll need something else, a search engine is your friend. Probably a GUI for Windows and macOS. Not hard to do from a terminal, so no need to look for a GUI.

You use mkvinfo filename.mkv, to find the track, then you use mkvextract tracks filename.mkv track:filename.srt. Then you search internet for a translator, or I suppose use Google translate. Looks like a text file. So copy and paste to Google.

Now to eat ice cream, and then sleep. I might have an odd dream or two, or more.

My dad will probably be in at least one dream again. He’s not in a body in my dreams. I think I was in the last one. Apparently having no relationship with my dad, affected me.
