Is my AMD RX 5500 XT defective? Wasn’t expecting much of an upgrade with a 6600. Glad I didn’t buy the 6650 XT for $265. It would be overkill.

Haven’t noticed much if any stuttering. PlanetSide 2, the FPS does get low when in a big battle, lots of players in the same area. Still didn’t stutter, and the GPU usage was never 100%, nor was the CPU. So no idea why the FPS dropped.

I won’t buy a MSI GPU again, it’s possible MSI GPUs suck ass.

If I ever buy a new one, it’ll be XFX again.

The 5500 XT can be donated, it ain’t worth money. Well, I don’t want money for it, it’s junk as far as I’m concerned. It worked really good and seemed to be better when I first got it, then it was the same or worse then old card.

One brand I like is Sapphire, I think I had a card a long time ago from them. But I think I’ll stick with XFX.

Oh and if you don’t care about brand, Amazon has a PowerColor 6600 for $224 or so. I may have bought that, if I didn’t already have this one.

That brand seems like a cheap brand though. Never owned one, so don’t know if they are good or not. But for under $230, it might be worth the risk.

Oh and the card for $265, the 6650 XT, is a brand that might not be very good either. Perhaps if they make motherboards, their GPUs might suck.

If them making motherboards matters, then the PowerColor might be fine. Don’t think they make motherboards.

I’d rather have PowerColor then MSI. For some reason, I don’t want a GPU from ASRock. Now I might buy a motherboard from them, but not a GPU. They might make server motherboards, so they might not hate Linux.

Their mini ITX motherboard for AM5, no USB 4 on it. Some of their micro ATX boards, say Thunderbolt ready, no idea how, without USB 4. “- 1 x Thunderbolt™ AIC Connector (5-pin) (Supports ASRock Thunderbolt™ 4 AIC Card)” that’s how.

Can I use that card on my motherboard? Probably not. Boohoo. They should have added that connector to the mini ITX board. Eh, just put the GPU in the one slot, problem solved. And that PCIe card, says only Intel crap is supported. So I guess their site lies. And that mini ITX board is almost $300.

But a tiny computer would be nice, if the case is big enough for GPU.

That’s a nice case, but no 3.5” drive support, I’d need an enclosure or two. Or get another HD dock. Might actually fit on desk, with all my crap.

Cheaper to get AM4 mini ITX motherboard, and reuse my RAM and crap. Would need a new PSU, a smaller one. There’s be lots of cussing assembling a mini ITX computer though.

If I have a problem screwing a GPU in, I’ll be in for some fun.

Did Firefox get faster? I should have bought this GPU a long time ago. But it cost more. Hopefully it lasts till 2030. I’m waiting to see if I live that long, and what state the world is in. Then maybe I’ll get a new computer.
