Downgrading firmware on security camera
Don't think it's the previous version it had, but whatever it had before that. Have a bunch of corrupt videos from it, and resetting the camera didn't fix anything. The previous firmware it had, crapped out once, recorded in one file for five hours, and it was corrupt.
So maybe the version before that is more stable.
Nice they let you downgrade the firmware.
I'll need to wait an hour to see if it's fixed. Maybe two hours.
They recommend resetting to the default settings after updating. Probably why resetting didn't work, I restored the config that I backed up using the latest firmware. I should have backed it up on the previous firmware.
But it might be fixed anyways.
So what, export the config, and then upgrade, reset, and restore the config? Or leave it on the old firmware that seems to be working just fine.
How long of an ethernet cable would I need to put another camera in my room? There's a ethernet switch on the old soundbase. I should get rid of that defective soundbase, but I'm lazy.
There's some corrupt JPG images, but some from the 10th too. Probably need to reset the settings, and reconfigure it. Not sure that'll fix the JPG problem though.
The bad images, have a file size of 0 B. Why is it putting empty images on my NFS share? Seems more like a bug, then something a reset would fix. Resetting is a pain, if you don't have a good config to restore.
Put all the settings I care about in a text file. Going to reset it, change the settings back manually. And maybe upgrade after exporting the config.
Should have a good config export now. I may or may not try upgrading again. The new version might be buggy crap.
Haha, security camera is recording sound now. Guess it does that by default. Well, I think I tried getting it to before, but wouldn't work. Or maybe it was just the sound trigger thing I was trying to use.
Hmm, is my snoring loud enough to trigger it? If so, lots of recordings of me snoring will be on it. If a spirit talks, it might get recorded. If a loud noise wakes you up at 1 AM, you might have proof of a neighbor making noise, and violating their lease.
How loud is 60db? No idea. And it looks like it'll just trigger the camera to record. I'd rather have an audio file. So I'll leave that disabled.
I may enable the sound trigger recording tomorrow. After I see what I hear in anything it records.
