Telling people to try a “real” OS like, Windows and Mac, is flame bait. Well, not their exact grammar.

Windows is a shit OS. They should try a real OS like Linux. I should put Linux on my Mac mini, except, that would defeat the purpose of buying it.

Anybody want to finish writing my WP import plugin for TextPattern? WordPress is a liability, and slows your server down, that most likely runs Linux. And it’s a fake OS. They should email everybody with a Linux server, and tell them to use a real OS. They will get a lot of people laughing their ass off at them.

The only way, I’ll restore my other domain, is if I convert it to TextPattern. Not using WordPress anymore, to many bots hammering it for no good reason. That probably won’t happen, so enjoy 404 errors.

Converting it to a static site, using Simply Static.

If there’s over 5000 pages/files, it takes a long ass time, at least on a one core Slice. And it might be limited to 50%. Nope, I think it died. Don’t need the zip file anyways. There’s a folder with everything in it, that’s all I need. Yup, the script exceeded 30 seconds. Redoing it, cause I don’t want the Jetpack plugin crap in the static site.

Looks like it worked. No zip file, I’d need to edit the PHP config for that to be able to complete. Just moved the directory to the root, then moved the files out of it.

The bots will have fun, no WordPress is accessible to the public, moved it to a folder, and chmod it 600. In case I need it someday.

Sorry to sink your boat, but any OS that exists, is real. Therefore, Linux, Windows, macOS, are all real.
