Kalief Browder died in 2015, born in 1993, three years younger then me.
Pretty sure that was on the last episode I watched on Netflix. He murdered himself, not sure how. Hard to hear them talk sometimes.
He never would of tried murdering himself, if he wasn’t at Rikers for three years. His case was dismissed. His family lost him, because the entire system is fucked beyond repair.
He hanged himself.
Great idea, put a 16 year old in solitary confinement. Law doesn’t listen to psychologists. He might of been older when they locked him in a box. He didn’t get to finish high school or do anything else. Life ended early, because he couldn’t take the memories anymore. They beat him, legal of course.
Don’t seek asylum in the US, go to Canada, or the UK, or Denmark. But don’t come here.
They drove a man mad, because he was accused of stealing a backpack. Oh and the witness left the US. No detective work or anything really was done, they just believed them. No plea deal, you rot in jail. Adjourn it till they successfully murder themselves. In his case, he got out, but he was damaged mentally, and ended up dying anyways.
They gave him zero apology, and they considered him a liar when he said he attempted murdering himself in solitary confinement. No help what so ever when he got out.
His mom is working with his lawyer now. Is the trial over yet? They should have to do more then pay. Put some of them in jail at Rikers island, for allowing this bullshit. Who cares about the money. Give em each three years.
Does law enforcement even understand what they did? Probably, they just don’t give a shit.
Medicine won’t solve all mental illness. Apparently solitary confinement does some serious damage, especially to minors. Don’t think he had any mental illness before all this bullshit happened to him.
You know what happens if you put somebody with mental illness in solitary confinement? They don’t live much more then an hour.
