Will Proton ever work in macOS?
Maybe I can stream games from the Mac mini using Steam to the TV, with working audio.
Not until Proton is available for macOS. Which may be never.
Can’t use the OS I want, because Valve doesn’t care.
I’ll still be complaining about Steam’s Remote Play audio not working in 20 years.
Should buy another NVMe SSD, like the one I bought for my laptop, put it in an enclosure for the Mini. The $30 Kingston is kind of slow. Also, it’s only around 250 GB. Moving the game to that drive, it did crash while downloading, probably out of room. Got to love Apple, putting a 120 GB or so SSD in Mac minis. Soldered down too.
What happens if I ask Tim Cook about their anti consumer practices? Like soldering down the SSD? Under 200 MB/s, according to Activity Monitor. What’s the write out sec? No MB/s, so I don’t know what it means, was over 300. But the write MB/s was under 200. Even under 50.
Guild Wars 2 won’t open on the external slow SSD, or maybe it just takes 5+ minutes. Might have to redownload it, that’s a bummer.
It’s redownloading. The external SSD, is faster when less space is used, that’s what I get for only paying $30. Couldn’t see the gw2.dat or whatever it’s called, so I deleted the entire app, and recopied the app from the dmg. Now it opens.
SSD should be nice and slow once it’s done downloading. Just the way, I like my babes.
